No matter what I did I couldn't get a good signal in my workshop. I read about these repeaters and said "What the heck, let's give it a try." Well it works really well, I now have access to the signal everywhere. This is the way to go. Currently the prices keep falling to make it very economical to buy the extra antennas and have other XM's where I want to set them up at home. A couple of years ago I bought the whole kit with the sending unit, VERY expensive then. It works great for using XM at areas that don't have access to that South facing window or if you don't want to have the antenna wires running all over the place. Only problem I have is when using the XM in our kitchen the Microwave oven will blank out the XM signal when its on. NO other problems and if you're a die hard XM'er like me it's now really worth it because of the much more reasonable prices for stuff like this now.
With this Antenna attached to our XM radio we do not have to listen only on the south side of our house. We can enjoy our radio in any room.It's fantastic.
I bought this extra antenna with the signal repeater so I can now easily move my XM radio between locations in my home without having to run antennas to the outside. Reception is great and it has really helped me take better advantage of my Delphi radio and XM subscription.
I placed the transmitter of the XM Signal Repeater in the attic. This gives me full coverage throughout the house and even the back yard. The original Antenna is in a fixed location connected to an XM Radio Home Kit. By purchasing an additional antenna (and the best part here is the great price on Amazon), I can take the radio to other locations around the house so I can change the stations more easily, even in the back yard by the pool.
